Wow! I have had a wonderful time in New Orleans, Louisiana! I was a bit nervous though because me being one of the new Episcopal District Presidents and of course representing the 1st District was a challenge for me in the beginning. That's when God spoke to me and told me to do what you do best; be yourself and everything will fall in place. I touched down Friday morning at 9:40am at the famous Louis Armstrong International Airport and its was nice and warm; getting away from the cold in BK for a little while felt good. I was at the hotel and I saw our Dynamic Director L. Rochester and she welcomed me with open arms. I was on the 40th Floor in the Sheraton, what a blessing!! A few hours passed and Dr. Keith Coston (Lol) came and I was happy. Dr. Keith is my road dog as well as a good friend. Dr. Quinting came in the evening and it was really on! The 1st District was in the place in full effect.

We went to the Connectional "Bonding' Session to informally get to know each other on the Connectional level. But it didn't really felt like we were bonding until afterwards because we were discussing what would it take for the young people to change the AME Church. Many of the e-baord memebers provided good feedback and suggestions but y'all know me; I had to keep it real and say what the reality is, which is that we are the one's that can bring in the people and with numbers are a stronger voice for change. I found it funny because every time I spoke, there was no rebuttle. Guess I did something right lol. After the session, we walked the streets of New Orleans and just simply had a wonderful night.

The next day was the big day because we had to be up by 7am!! Smh. I held it down for the 1st by attending the WMS breakfast along with Aunt Toppi. Our great Bishop and Mother Norris was there and were very happy to see us. Rev. Leah was the guest speaker who provided great words of insight and knowledge of the so called deadly virus H1N1. Afterwards, we had our official Connectional YPD meeting and that was really fun. The logo contest was very fun, unfortunately we lost by one vote to the 6th Episcopal District, theme was HE Can Transform YA!! But its all good, shout out to the SOUL SAVING 6th District!! During the meeting we all had to formally introduce each other to the Connection, and I stated that I am here for them and if they have any events, to please let me know, Im only a Jetblue away!! lol. I hope they take my word. After the meeting, we all went out to Deney's for dinner and just fellowshipped, exchange numbers and had a wonderful time. It really saddened me that it was just for a weekend that we were able to chill but I cant wait to hang out with the new friends that I have made. I have recieved nothing but great feedback from all the members of the E-board and I am very humbled and greatful by their kind words!! 1st District, this mission was a success! Kudos to you!

"How deep is your love" It was a cold night in the city of Buffalo, New York. And the sound of music was coming from a well known church Bethel AME on the corner of Ferry and Michgan St. On March 14 I attended a charity concert for the Haiti relief fund hosted by the greater buffalo area of the western ny conference YPD. Lead by Western NY YPD Director Paula Young and WNY President La'Mone Gibson. It was definately a blessed time in the lord. Mr. Jamell Henderson President of the 1st Episocpal District YPD and myself supported our WNY conference. The concert raised about $1700 which is being donated to the Red Cross towards the Haiti Relief Fund.
